I started choosing a word and verse for the year a few years ago. It was a way to ground myself and try to be more intentional. Last year, my word was MAGNOLIA. I wrestled with it, prayed over it, and it felt like a bit of a wild card.
I’ve always been a fan of Chip & Joanna Gaines, so when I realized Magnolia was their logo, I wasn’t mad about watching lots of Fixer Upper and Discovery Plus! Ha :)
I researched the magnolia flower and what it represents. I did all the things, but then something unexpected happened. The magnolia trees never bloomed. I kept my eyes peeled all year–and NOTHING. I was like–what in the world, God, you gave me this word and this seems kind of weird that nothing bloomed.
Fast forward to a few weeks ago. I was driving down Thomasville and there it was: a Magnolia flower. It was like fireworks went off in my Spirit. “Remember” a whisper, a promise.
“Can you not discern this new day of destiny breaking forth around you? The early signs of my purposes and plans are bursting forth. The budding vines of new life are now BLOOMING EVERYWHERE” ~ Song of Songs 2:13 TPT
In our walk with God, we have to make peace with time. Sometimes our frustrations are His grand gestures in the making–we just can’t see it yet. I’m here popping up in your inbox today to remind you and urge you: TRUST HIS TIMING. TRUST HIS GOODNESS.
God is faithful and He is “constantly working for the good of those who love him” (Romans 8:28).
Today. Right now. In this very breath–He is working for your good. Rest in that this week. Take time to be in His presence.
If you’re in a challenging season, or waiting on Him–be encouraged. He’s moving and the miracle may be right around the corner.
Enjoy this song about the Goodness of God!
Be encouraged friends,
Ruth
